Marathon Patent Group Subsidiary TLI Communications LLC Enters Into Settlement and License Agreement With Photobucket.com

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/14/15 -- Marathon Patent Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: MARA) ("Marathon"), a patent licensing company, announced today that on January 13, 2015, the company's subsidiary TLI Communications LLC entered into a settlement and license agreement with Photobucket.com. The consideration to be paid by Photobucket to TLI Communications LLC and all other terms of the license agreement are confidential.

TLI Communications LLC's U.S. Patent 6,038,295 is currently being asserted against defendants in Eastern District of Virginia, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Google, Twitter, Yahoo, Pinterest, Apple and others. Mishcon de Reya New York LLP is representing TLI in these actions.

On September 15, 2014, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) denied a petition for IPR filed by Facebook, Inc. against TLI Communications LLC and its '295 patent.

October 16, 2014, Honorable United States District Judge T.S. Ellis, III, issued an order relating to all member cases in the TLI Communications LLC patent litigation.

The order scheduled a claim construction hearing for 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2015, and the hearing will be held at the University of Virginia School of Law in Charlottesville, Virginia where it will be incorporated into a class on patent law.
